Never participated in a Viennese Ball before?

No worries, you will be guided through the evening, and there will be many guests for whom it will be the first time too.

Can I still attend the Ball if I can’t dance?

Absolutely! The Viennese Ball of Montréal is as much about conviviality, meeting people, and having a great time at the Casino and the Heuriger as it is about dancing. However, if you would also like to join in the fun on the dance floor, we have the perfect solution for you: weekly dance classes are being held for our guests leading up to the Ball.

You will receive an email following your ticket purchase with all the details. If you buy your tickets by September 30, you can enjoy two free dance lessons leading up to the ball, held in the first week of October. Additional classes can be purchased per class or as one package.

Is there a dress code?

The Viennese Ball of Montréal is a very special event and the perfect occasion to wear formal evening attire, that is, floor-length ball gown for the ladies, and black tie (tuxedo), tails (white tie), or gala uniform for the gentlemen. Please note, the dress code is mandatory and will be enforced.

I want to attend the Ball. How do I go about it?

You have two options for purchasing a ticket. Here’s how:
1. Order and pay for your tickets directly online at austriainmontreal.com/ball/tickets.
2. Contact us directly here to purchase tickets.

3. Fill in all required information and follow the instructions.

Please note that no tickets will be mailed to you when purchasing them online. Please present yourself at the welcome desk when you arrive at the Ball.

Do you have any recommendations for a place to stay overnight?

Whether you are coming to the Ball from out of town or just want to fall right into bed after a glorious night of celebrating Viennese traditions and dancing, you can consider the Hotel Marriott Château Champlain. Guests are offered a discounted rate which you will receive by email following your ticket purchase.

I want to be a Debutante or Cavalier. What do I need to know?

You will be in for an unforgettably beautiful experience. All you need to know you can find here. Alternatively, you may contact us here, and we will be happy to answer all your questions. As places are limited, you may want to decide very soon.

Can I come alone?

Yes! You are more than welcome to come alone or with friends.

Is there a minimum age for guests?

The minimum age to attend the Viennese Ball is 16 years old as a Debutante or Cavalier. We request our regular guests to be 18 years or older.

Is there a vegan meal available?

Yes! Please make sure to note your preference for a vegan meal or any dietary restrictions upon purchasing your tickets. If you forget to do so, an email will be sent out prior to the Ball to confirm details.

Is the event LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes! The Viennese Ball is an LGBTQ+ friendly event.

Can I sit with my friends?

Yes! Please indicate with whom you would like to sit upon purchasing your tickets. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

How long does the Ball last?

The Viennese Ball starts at 6:30 PM and ends at 3:00 AM.

Do I need a connection to Austria or to be Austrian?

No! Everyone is welcome to join us and we are sure you will have a wonderful time discovering the Viennese Ball traditions that we are looking forward to sharing with you.
